Background Happenings...

Email Me Biff on Twitter -
If you've been following me for a bit, you might know that - as of late - I've been doing some finished pieces or simply working older pieces to a finished state. Well... I'm now doing something else I've been meaning to do with those pics.

I'm updating my Redbubble shop with some of them.

Tonight, I'm going through and picking a few designs back up and prepping them for products. It's a nice slow thing to do that both does and doesn't involve working on artwork. = P

See, Past Me made a smart move long ago. My stuff is generally always saved out as a master file at a relatively easily printable size at 300dpi - the max resolution I can manage for what I need in the long run. I can then mess with file and save out smaller, more web friendly resolutions/formats without worrying that I'll have corrupted that larger original or that those files will suffer from compression issues 'cause I'm trying to make lower res stuff into higher res stuff (a thing that I have seen many folks do far too many time).

This also means that, if I want to make an image fit on a mug or have a transparent background for t-shirts, I still have to make that file from the Master that was made however long ago. So I'm still working the file and making that new image... I just don't have to start from scratch to do it. You'd figure this would be a bit of a time saver, right? It's just a matter of resizing images or moving a few existing elements to fit existing known parameters. It's a cakewalk, yeah?

Ha HA! No. -.-

Needless to say, tonight's post-comic posting stretch and foodening will be a much needed thing 'cause my butt will be back in this seat soon enough as I Think I have like three of four new designs I want to finish up and post before the night is done. How many of those will I like enough to make live? Only time will tell.

'Till next time! = )
