Hard to Swallow...

Email Me Biff on Twitter -
So... on July 1st I sat down to eat a homemade steak burrito for dinner and things did not go as planned.

Something got stuck in my throat. -.-

It wasn't so high up that I couldn't breath but it was just deep enough that it caused me trouble. This has happened in the past (usually because I was stupid and tried to suck down my food whole while trying to get somewhere) but this time was different. Not going to get super graphic but know I went to the bathroom to let my body do whatever it was going to do with the food - be it going up or down so to speak - and it chose a path I never figured on. It chose neither!

After an hour of unsuccessfully working on the problem, I decided it was high time to see the professionals at my local hospital to fix this. After a dose of medicine that eases the esophagus didn't do the job completely, I got a trip to a Different hospital to have Even More professionals stick a camera down down my gullet and fix things with all the brute force of "We touched it with the endoscope and it went along its way.".

Not how I wanted to start my July but it did start a process which will help me in the long run. My family has a history of stomach issues and it seems it did not skip out on me. I was already planning on spending this month finding a proper doc to make sure this ancient husk of mine still functions. Now I have a specialist to help me make sure my portable acid pit doesn't eat me alive, too.

As for the comic... despite the interruption, I'm a little ahead. Currently have the strip for the 18th on the Art Desk ready for pencils. I Wanted to have the inks for it done by tonight but I decided a trip to the ER to clear things out was a better use of my time. = )

I say that jokingly but it was the plan. After dinner, I was going to finish watching 'MSG: Hathaway' and start in on sketching the strip. Little did I know I was going on an all-night adventure that included everything from unsuccessfully drinking soda, a fun ambulance ride (complete with discussions about the ending of 'Titanic'), a chemically induced nap and photos proving I both still have bones and I'm Very irritated with the world both inside and out.

With this being a July 4th post, I will leave you with this...

Happy 4th of July/Happy Sunday! Remember: Stay Safe. Wear a Mask. Get vaccinated if you can.

'Till next time! = )
