I finally buckled and got myself a new tablet screen.

You may be asking yourself why I - a person who owns a resistive touchscreen monitor, a proper Tablet PC thingie and a Bunch of touch enabled devices - would need yet another screen with which he can draw on. Well... it boils down to the tech inside them and the age of the objects.

The SketchBook app on Android doesn't want to run on my Shield Tab anymore without issues and my phone can only record so much video before it gives up on it and trashes the file. The latter isn't a problem unless I want to do a video of that part of the process later which I kinda' do in some cases. Also, SketchBook's app doesn't allow for installing brushes so that limits what I can do there.

My Tablet PC is starting to show its age. It's a great device for working on the go when I want something that's a full-on Win10 machine but it's something I can neither record nor stream from. It doesn't have the power to handle recording and/or streaming and the drawing programs at the same time. Not its fault, mind you. Programs just eat more RAM and CPU cycles nowadays.

This leaves the last one - my old resistive touchscreen monitor. It's fun for quickly managing things without a mouse on my Art Desk PC but that's about it. The drivers are busted and it's of no use as a proper art tool. Not anymore, at least. -.-

Enter the XP-Pen Artist Pro 12. It's a small low cost penabled screen that should allow me to do what I can on the MogNet Tab PC on my newly updated Main system. It's not a cheap purchase (Around $250 before tax) but it's a solid bit of kit and a far cry from the oddly more expensive yet less impressive Wacom One. Love the Wacom tech in my Tablet PC thingie but yeah... this seemed like the better buy considering I'm still effectively new at this aspect of Digital Art and I know that extra cash is better used on the pens and paper I work with daily.

So that's about it for now. The next strip's already in the can. New story bit starts next week with a bang. I'm crazy nervous about it but I hope folks have more faith in my ability to pull this off than the little voice inside my head seems to. o.O

That said, I need to finish cleaning off my work area and start back in again. The strip's anniversary is coming up quick and I want to get some stuff done for that, too, but I'm more focused on building the buffer so I can write and play with my new toy once it shows up.
