Mmm... Comics. = )

Email Me Biff on Twitter -
With today's comic being... "Action Packed", I figured I'd talk up a new manga I came across that decidedly isn't. = P

Thanks to me being Me, Amazon popped up a recommendation for a book that I honestly would never have looked for otherwise. It has a title like a lot of modern manga where it just tells you what you're in for.

The book: 'I Am a Cat Barista'.

Like many manga with similarly on the nose titles, this one has a catch. It's about regular (human) folks who, through their tiredness or their troubles, find themselves at Cafe Hachiware - a coffee shop that just so happens to be a Cat Cafe of sorts... in that it's run by a tall anthro cat guy named Hachi.

There are no menus, just a cat guy who does as cats do - people watch and listen - and will bring you just the drink or food you need to help you out at that time. = )

It's just this really odd, chill book. The stories in this 1st one are short little vignettes. There seems to be some return customers so it doesn't seem like the cafe itself is like a weird magical place that pops up when you need it. Then again, the folks who find it don't respond to Hachi like you'd expect for folks seeing a person-sized cat offering them a place to relax and the opportunity of a possible free meal (if they don't like what he serves them). You also don't see any other animal folks out and about in their backstories so... I don't think talking cats are a common thing in this world? o.O

Anyhoo! The book is called 'I Am a Cat Barista'. There's two volumes out. I have the 2nd on the way. The stories are nice and the art is fun. Worth a look if that's your speed. = )

Now I'm off to possibly see if some of my older game consoles work. I got a PS2 that's absolutely begging for some simple mods that are surprisingly cheap to buy and don't require any soldering on my part. That and I just want to know if it still functions. Makes no sense to make plans that will be destroyed 'cause of something like the DVD drive being sketchy.

Remember: Stay Safe. Wear a Mask. Get vaccinated if you can. Get a booster if you're already good on all that. And remember to keep your head up.

'Till next time! = )
