The Tale of a Vampire Far From Home
Biff is new to the U.S., fresh from Romania. He has to make his way in a land he doesn't quite understand along with dealing with friends. roommates and being a modern monster in a mortal world.
Biff was born into a long and storied line of vampires. Biff's family was very forward thinking and embraced the humans in his hometown of Curtea de Arges. In fact, many of his closest friends were indeed humans.
After making headlines as the first Non-Human to attend a human public high school, Biff's family became an accepted part of society. Biff's father - Nicolae - was a founding member of L.U.S.R. (Legions of Undead for Societal Respect). Biff languished for years after High School. He helped around his father's organization, doing voice overs and narration for various L.U.S.R. educational films.
After many years of this, Biff took up traveling. Finally finding his way to Rosa's door...
Rosa was born and raised in the town of Willimantic. She comes from a relatively small Puerto Rican family and has grown up around weirdness (see: Vida). In an effort to separate herself from her family, Rosa studied real estate trends and bought a large Victorian for next to nothing.
She promptly moved in.
Roommates and tenants came and went. Though she has enough money to pay the bills, she continues to work at Goth Issues. Her latest roommate, a young man named Biff, is fresh from Eastern Europe.
Despite all of her hard work, strangeness has found Rosa once again...
Vida, sister of Rosa, is a very energetic and special person. You see, at the tender age of three, Vida was bitten by the family's pet cat after it was exposed to contaminated catnip. Vida fell ill and was placed under quarentine for a month. When she was released, she was forever changed.
Vida emerged from her experience... a Cat Girl.
This naturally lead to many changes in the family's lifestyle. Doctors and reporters would come and see Vida. School life changed as both Vida and her sister found themselves either under survellence by the staff or the target of ridicule by their classmates.
Vida looks up to her older sister Rosa. Though she gets on her nerves (often), she knows Rosa cares for her. Rosa even helped her get a job at Goth Issues, much to the dismay of her boss Fred.
Vincent Vuples is third generation Italian-American whose family runs a deli in the Bronx. On a trip to Sicily to visit family, the local muscle tried to lean on his relatives. Vincent, with other members of his family, chased them through the countryside. That's when it happend...
Vincent tripped and fell, disturbing a fox den. He was attacked by the foxes inside and barely survived. Vincent awoke in the hospital to find that he had been cursed. He will forever walk the land as a Were-Fox.*
Vincent met Biff at the New York branch of L.U.S.R. and the two became fast friends. Years later, Vincent began attending ECSU in Willimantic where he currently resides.
* There are questions as to the truthfulness of this account. Only Biff knows for sure and he's not talking.
Lady in Red and Vincent's Girlfriend. Rebecca was born and raised in Tennessee. Not much is known about her past as she was never entered into the LUSR database until an incident involving her transformation at her college.
What is known is this was not her first change. Unlike her boyfriend, she seems to be embarassed by it. She sees her 'condition' as more of a curse to hide from the public. Vincent remains by her side through this (although her increased size is a bit shocking) and hopes that she will some day be as comfortable in her own skin as he is.
Owner/Operator of Goth Issues - A Catch-all underground culture shop - and Rosa's place of work.
Fred spent his time as a child in his parent's garage taking apart everything he could. Not the greatest mechanic or electrician, he tried for years to make something out of his hobby. Fueled by a heavy dose of comic books and scifi, he found himself in the employ of a young start-up called 'Goth Issues'. The strange atmosphere (and nice paycheck) was just what he needed to continue to play.
After years of loyal service, Fred moved to Connecticut and opened a shop of his own. Somehow, in this small town, he managed to gather quite a strange crew of his own. For better or worse, they are his employees... and unfortunate subjects.
Nothing is really known about this character. Name, age, species... nothing. Save for that he/she/its path crosses with the gang's every so often, they are a complete mystery.
What is known is this person is easily spooked by Biff and works at the local theater.
There is also a chance they could be ageless.
